What's going well / not going well

Going well

  • August revenue is still ahead on both comparisons: NZ$1,048.18 across the first twenty days is +129.1% YoY and +8.2% MoM. The MoM lead narrowed sharply from +48.3% yesterday — 20 July carried a NZ$261.69 sale, so July's comparison base jumped to NZ$968.53.
  • Basket value is still roughly double last year: August's average plan is NZ$209.64 against NZ$91.49 in August 2025 and NZ$138.36 over 1–20 Jul; FYTD sits at NZ$199.60 vs NZ$149.24 last year (+33.7%).
  • Traffic keeps setting records: 1,131 FYTD home sessions (+71.6% YoY), 648 MTD (+120.4% YoY, +184.2% MoM) and 28 yesterday (+47.4% YoY, +115.4% MoM).
  • Revenue is up on fewer plans: FY27 FYTD revenue is +19.7% YoY on 10.5% fewer policies. Essentials and YourCover International together carry NZ$3,247.96 — 95.7% of FY27 revenue — with just one Domestic policy in seventeen sales.

Not going well

  • Three blank days running: 18, 19 and 20 Aug all produced 0 plans and NZ$0.00. Yesterday's 28 home sessions reached 19 plan-options visits and a single traveller-information view — nothing got as far as /payment.
  • Conversion keeps diluting as traffic grows: FYTD confirmation rate 1.50% (17/1,131) vs 2.88% (19/659) over the same FY26 window; August MTD is down to 0.77%.
  • The MTD funnel leaks at checkout: top-of-funnel sessions are up 72.8% period-on-period, but /payment fell to 13 (−23.5%) and /confirmation to 9 (−18.2%).
